Parish News & Upcoming Events

PARISH NEWS                                                                    Our Parish Committee MET 4/12 after Mass in the church hall. They voted to make needed repairs to the floor of the lower tenement in our rental house. Also a Summer Bingo was approved. Your weekly donation to our Maintenance Fund in your Sunday Envelope will help to pay the cost of our rental repairs. For the next 2 months of May & June, Board Meetings will continue on Sundays (other than Mothers’ & Fathers’ Days).  The Board also voted to keep collec-ting food & other health-and-hygiene staples ALL YEAR ROUND!  St. John‘s Parishioners are asked to participate in col-lecting food and necessity items for those that need our help in the community.  Please donate perishable foods and items such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo, paper towels, etc. that a person might use on a daily basis. Donations can be left in the Yellow/Gold box “Time to Shine and Share” in the church entrance.  When the box is full, it will be delivered to various food centers for distribution to needy folks.  Let’s see how many times we can fill the “Share Box”.  4/24 thru 5/1 Fr.Henry is on Vacation.  NEXT SUN. 4/ 26 Mass will be at 11AM with Fr. Robert Koerber.  Father Sr.Krusienski (860-628-0736 or 203-723-5637) will be available “on call” for emergencies.

Again, in 2 weeks, on Sun. May 3, Robert Klimek will walk in FoodShare’s “Walk against Hunger” in Hartford. Robert will be down in the hall after Mass today, to ask us to sign up as “sponsors.”

We still need volunteers to clean our church [& rectory] in May & each month following. Notify “Georgie” LaFranchise about the day & time you can come to donate this service to our parish community.
